2011 NCGA Tournament Schedule

Jan. 15

Saturday

Start Time: 9:00 AM

2 Person 6/6/6:  Teams play holes 1 thru 6 as a scramble, holes 7 thru 12 as best ball and holes 13 thru 18 as alternate shot (make up for Dec 2010 canceled tournament).

Jan. 29 & 30

Saturday & Sunday

Start Time: 9:00 AM

TWO DAY - COMBINED - NCGA QUALIFIERS (handicap reductions for each “event” in accordance with NCGA event) – 2 person teams

1)  Zone Qualifier

2)  4-Ball Qualifier

3)  Senior 4-Ball (each partner must be 55)

Each player plays his/her own ball. The team score is based on the best score on each hole of the 2 person team after deduction for applicable handicap strokes on the hole. All teams who enter will be eligible for each event (except Senior event both must be 55). The top two teams who win go to the Zone and  will no longer be eligible for the other events. The top two remaining teams who win will go to the 4-Ball. After that the top two remaining age qualified teams who win will go to the Senior 4-Ball. In other words, a team may only win one event so that different members of the club get to attend these events. Slot ties broken by sudden death play off.

Feb. 19

Start Time: 9:00 AM

2 Person Scramble - Guest Optional: Each team is comprised of 2 players. Each Player hits a tee shot. The team selects the best tee shot and each player hits from within one club length no nearer the hole of the selected shot; repeat process until ball holed out (min. no. of drives will apply).

Mar. 19

Start Time: 9:00 AM

Individual Medal Play. Each player plays his/her own shot. Handicaps are deducted from gross total score. 

Apr. 23

Saturday

Start Time: 8:00 AM

2 Person Team Scotch: A & B both tee off. On 2nd shot, A hits B's ball and B hits A's ball. The players select the best second shot. If they pick the ball last hit by A, then B hits it and they alternate hitting that ball until they hole out. Repeat the process on each hole.

May 14 & 15

Saturday & Sunday

Start Time: 8:00 AM

TWO DAY – COMBINED – Individual Medal Play with OPTIONAL NCGA Net Amateur Qualifier. Each player plays his/her own shot. Handicaps are deducted from gross total score. Players may elect to enter the qualifiers at additional $20.

June 11

Saturday

Start Time: 8:00 AM

Team CHA, CHA, CHA (4 person). Each player plays his/her own shot. On the first hole the team takes one best score, on the second hole, the team takes two best scores, on the third hole the team take three best scores, repeating the one-two-three again – CHA – CHA - CHA 

July 10

Sunday

Start Time: 8:00 AM

Devil Ball Scramble (4 person teams). On hole, 1 player one plays his/her own ball and the three other players play a scramble. On hole 2, player two plays his/her own ball and the three other players play a scramble. On hole 3, player three plays his/her own ball and the three other players play a scramble. On hole 4, player four plays his/her own ball and the three other players play a scramble. The process is repeated every four holes, with players one and two playing to additional devil balls on holes 17 and 18. The team score on each hole is the combined devil ball player’s score with the scramble score – watch for that little devil. 

Aug. 13

Individual Medal Play Club Championship. Each player plays his/her own shot. Handicaps are deducted from gross total score. Players may opt to play for overall Club Medal Play Champion in the “scratch” flight. Other players will be in handicap flights.

MEMBER/GUEST INVITATIONAL - 2 Person Best Ball (Guest Required):Each player plays his own ball. The team score is based on the best score on each hole of the 2 person team. Strokes are allocated based on handicap rating of holes.

Oct. 8

Match Play Club Championship - qualifying round - medal play

Those players who qualify today, proceed to match play

     Winners proceed to second day match play

     Scratch flight plays 36 holes match. All other flights play 18 holes match.
